Ole Southern (mostly) Antiquarian and Historic Documents by Albert;
Antique Autographs,
Paper and Manuscripts

I am not a dealer. The offerings are from my hobby work of many years. I want to pare down part of my hobby collection to allow me to specialize.  Much of the materials I inherited or purchased in the past
are now offered.
It is sometimes a slow process to review, conduct basic research and post items. If you have a specific area of interest please send me an email and I will be on the look out for those type of documents and I will reply to you or post soonest.

     I appreciate you considering my documents.

All documents, papers, drawings, and other items offered are my personal property. Many were inherited through my grandfather. He was a printer by trade; owned Commercial Printing Company at 133 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston, SC. Commercial Printing Company was less than a block from the intersection of Broad Street; in fact, one could see the Exchange Building from his front door. His logo was CO - PRINT - CO. He was quite friendly with the
many merchants, bankers, lawyers and insurance agents who had stores and offices on Broad Street and the lower part of peninsular Charleston. He would clean out closets, attics and the small cellars of these companies in search of philatelic material. In exchange he would provide business cards, letterhead stationary, ledger books and receipt books for the boxes of material he found. The boxes contained philatelic material as well as documents; some rare, some scarce and some fairly common; however with interesting content. In addition, over the years I have searched out the same type of materials to add to my hobby collection.

All are original, there are no copies or reprints. What you see is what you will receive. The offerings are part of my collection that was appraised in 2012 and again in 2015. The prices are based on the appraised value of 2015. The 2015 appraisal was considered low as I wanted to be very conservative in my valuation. Many will be worth more than the requested price. I leave it to you, the buyer, to decide if the offerings are worth the price. If you do make a counter offer, make it your best as I will not spend time going back and forth on the selling price. I trust that you appreciate my position. I know that "being old or antique" in itself does not make it worth a small fortune. I want a price that is fair to you as well as to me.
