One of the documents provided information on a previously unknown plantation in the Charleston SC area. One never knows what may be found in an old document!
General Note: Many old documents will refer to a particular county. However, boundaries changed significantly several times since a document was made and what was in one county in now in a different county in the present day.
So when one reads an old document be cognizant of that fact.

Below is the document that "found" this new plantation.
- 1775 – A mortgage was issued for Distillery Plantation. It seems Allaro Belin took out a mortgage on the plantation with Alexander Rose.
- 1792 – Alexander Rose sued Allaro Belin. The dispute seems to stem from Allaro Belin never properly filing the mortgage documents and then trying to sell the plantation without the knowledge of Alexander Rose. Rose further asks the court to find in his favor so he can be left in "in peaceable enjoyment of the premises, Distillery Plantation".
