I will let the images speak for themselves. This is a Union Bank of South Carolina assignment of Henry D. Alexander and Edward Barnwell, Jr. as Collection Clerks for the bank. On the back it shows an 1849 dated substitution of the assignment in red and shows a five-fingered hand with the center finger very long and; you draw your own assumption. Measuring 13.5 by 8 inches it has some loss at the folds; however, can be handled with ordinary care. A bonus is the two seals next to the signatures are intact and firmly affixed.

Found references to Henry D. Alexander in GOOGLE search that requires added research. For Edward Barnwell, Jr. here is link to the Barwell Family in the Low Country of SC
