This is an excellent condition Mossberg 151M(a) 22 LR rifle with a Weaver B4 Scope. No serial number found as it pre-dates the 1968 requirement. The 20 inch bore; muzzle to closed bolt, is shiny with superb rifling. Chamber superb. The somewhat unique safety works as it should and the bolts seats perfectly. Crisp trigger. Excellent wood with only the most minor of dings. At the top left at end of the bolt area is a triangular piece "missing". Actually came that way to accommodate the corner of a swing away S130 Peep Sight. Bluing is very good and appears original; only the most minor of marks. Absolutely no rust found. At rear of the receiver in image 4 you will see some loss of metal at top of the circle. However, it appears to have stabilized over time and not gotten worse as I do rub oil there now and then. Butt pad original. Muzzle end excellent. Front and rear sights are missing. Screws in place where rear sight would be seated. Has Weaver 22 Tip Off 3/4” PAT PEND USA mount holding the Weaver B4 Scope. Lens clear; sorry no end caps. Butt fed; 15 LR capacity tube is excellent. On trigger guard at right side on the bottom edge is marked from factory with what looks like U.S.A. PAT. DES. 110729. Image 3 has what looks like a narrow streak below scope. Stray dog hair; sorry. Image 4 has two screws in taps that were for a S130peep sight.

This is a top model Mossberg .22 rifle. Bit of history: The 151M series was introduced in 1946 and was an improvement over the Model 51M; a pre-WWII model. The 151M was followed in 1947 by the 151M(a), the 151M(b) in 1948, and the 151M(c) in 1954. This is a 151M(a) making it a 1947 model. This one is 73 years old and lookin’ good!

Marked on top of barrel with:

O. F. MOSSBERG AND SONS INC.

NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.

151M(a) 22 L.R. ONLY PAT. PEND

I give discounts on multiple buys made within one week ranging from 5% to 10%. I charge actual shipping via UPS Ground and no charge for packing materials. I use UPS Ground; sorry but no FEDEX. I can mail rifles and parts via USPS if requested. If in SC I can ship directly to you. If out of SC I must ship to a FFL; if your FFL will accept it from an individual as I am not a FFL. I am selling off most of my collection to concentrate on a few firearms as I do not have the time to enjoy them all. This firearm has not been fired for an extended period of time as it has been sitting in my gun safe. However, all functions were dry tested and firearm visually inspected for this offering. Sold AS IS with no refund unless not as described and pictured. Please ask for any added information desired. CONTACT AT: https://www.alberthistoricdocuments.com/alberts-firearms-for-sale.html
