ABBREVIATIONS and TERMS
ADS = autograph document signed
ALS = autograph letter signed
ALS(T) = transcribed copy of autograph letter signed
DS = document signed
LS = letter signed
MP = printed manuscript
MS = manuscript
n.d. = undated

​​BD: Banking related document. 
LD: Legal Document; regarding a court case or legal settlement.
ML: Military Related; having to do with military personnel, supplies or actions and campaigns.
​MS: Multiple Signatures; two or more.
SL: Slave Letter regarding slaves as to name, sale, or other aspects.
NOTES
Paper Composition: All documents are on paper unless otherwise noted. Laid paper (made by hand process) was predominate until about 1830; date varies depending on the source. Then woven paper using mechanical processes became more common; however, some were made on a limited basis as early as the late 1700s. If you want to know if the the paper is laid or woven, shoot me an email. I will advise yes, no or if I am not sure. 

Size:
Sizes are approximate; within quarter of an inch. 

Condition:
       EH: Easily handled with normal care. 
       CH: Can be handled with a little extra care.
        FH: Fragile, handle with extra care.
        VF: Very fragile, handle with extreme care.    
        BR: Brittle; pieces may fall off easily.
